August 31. Took Pi into a close by beach for a leashed walk about 7am. We left Clam Bay at 8:15 under sunny skies and with little wind. We timed our arrival at Poirier Pass perfectly and went easily through at or close to the slack tide. Once out of the pass and into the
August 30. Up early (6:30am) to row Pi into the uncrowded Spit beach. Did not dare let her off leash as she would surely run and run and run and we did want to continue our journey this morning. It was another sunny warm and mostly windless day. I forgot to top up the main
August29. Motored out of Port Renfrew at 7am. No wind and flat seas most of a long travel day. 12 hours of motoring, stopping several times for whale and wildlife watching and HH. We saw more wildlife in this stretch of the trip than any other. Lots and lots of seabirds on the water. A

Aug.11. I was up at 6, checking the marine weather and condition reports. The gale warning had been cancelled, and it looked like a go. A short row into a nice pebbly beach for a leashed Pi, even shorter walk was followed by breakfast and a 7:30am departure in slightly foggy and calm conditions. The
Aug.10. Outa Walters Cove at 8 am and motor into a slight southeast wind into the north end of Nootka Island, at 1pm, where we stopped for lunch and decided whether to continue on to Friendly Cove at the south end of Nootka Island. We choose a fairly bumpy small cove to anchor for lunch.
Aug.7 and 8. I was up early; 5am and it was still darkish. There was however; already a steady stream of recreational fishing boats heading out to the fishing grounds. The most popular one was just outside the harbour near a light station. We/I pulled anchor and was on our way by 6:30am. The marine
