Aug.22 to 26th. At 8:15am; We left Hot Springs Oceanside, sails up, in a slight easterly breeze. That died in about 30 minutes and we motored our way to Tofino in about 5 hours. First stop was for fuel ( including 10 pounds of propane) and water. From there we cruised by the main public dock ( The Fourth Street Dock) and found it crowded as expected. We decided to anchor across the channel, had a quick lunch on board and put the ding and motor out for the 5 minute trip to the big city of Tofino. Our favourite sourdough bread was sold out, to our dismay. It had been almost 2 weeks since we had done any grocery or liquor shopping so we had to do a good resupply that we thought would get us through to the Victoria area. There was also some socializing to do and cribbage carnage to get done, in town. There was a predicted southeasterly blow and rain predicted for Monday Aug.26. We decided to wait for that to blow through and then continue our journey south on Tuesday.
