Day 31

The prawn boat left the dock at 6:45 am and we took it’s spot, I did a bit of a tour of the remnants of what was, In the 1920s, 30s and even the 40s a bustling town of over 400 people who mostly worked at the cannery. A company recently bought the “town” and is planning on resurrecting is as some sort of historical site. We left Butedale at 11:15, in the rain with a bit of a tail wind. A large cruise ship went by southbound. Many waterfalls careened down the steep dark walls of Bute Inlet on our way north. I did put the sails up for an hour just before we arrived at the village of Hartley Bay. We tied up to the fuel dock which was not open and rumour had it; that it might open at 8:30 the next morning. No hours were posted anywhere and the band office also was closed.

Tied up at the Hartley Bay fuel dock, for the night.
