Day 68

July 12. Make a run to the Petersburg pastery/deli for scone and blueberry muffin for breakfast. Top up water in the rain. Walk to fish processing restaurant that was recommended at the Visitors Center as having the best fish and chips in town. Odd to me that even there; although advertised as fresh local fish, they only use previously frozen fish in their fish and chips. The fish and chips were good but not great and even though we ordered one halibut and one lingcod order, I think it is a waste of halibut. In my notso humble opinion the only way to get the great taste of halibut is fresh. Not “fresh frozen”. We topped up our diesel tanks and gas generator and filled a gas container. We timed the currents well and made it through Wrangle Channel and into an anchorage at the other end in Deception Point Cove in about 4 hours.

Leaving Deception Point Cove.
